Hear me out - if you go to Costa Rica, INCLUDE a visit to the dentist, even for just a cleaning. Best decision I have ever made for our dental health and in our travel adventures. I was in touch with Lori at DaVinci’s Dental Care (she is AMAZING) and she set us up with an appointment here, in one of Dr. Bernal Soto’s offices in San José. Our treatment plan was for a deep cleaning (coded as periodontal scaling and root planing in the States). Our dentist, Dr. Camilla and Diana the dental hygienist were exceptional. The location was clean and equipped the latest technology. They were incredibly accommodating to our travel schedule, thoroughly explained our dental needs, and provided the best care with a gentle touch. They were mindful of sensitivities and made sure we left with beautiful smiles. I am just like you, like so many in the States that have to pay for dental care and co pays out of pocket. It is becoming increasingly frustrating that something this essential to our health is so expensive and seemingly out of reach; it can be very disheartening. I now feel so empowered that I took this chance. It is so great to know that there IS a better choice AND you can do it while on vacation. I wish I would have done this sooner. Make the leap and give it try. You will love it. Thank you Lori, Dra. Camilla and Dr. Soto, and Diana for taking such great care. We are continuing with regular cleaning and maintenance here in the States, but you have definitely become our primary go to for dentistry and ortho. Thank you truly. She may be able to file and help submit the claim forms necessary to get your cleaning and treatments covered in part or in total by your insurance. It is a win:win.

Dr Soto is an exceptionally skillful and trustworthy dentist who’s engaging and instantly puts you at ease. He’s forthcoming with information about his treatment recommendations and was especially responsive to my sensitivity and low pain threshold. It was clear to me that he enjoys life, loves his work, and genuinely cares about his patients. Traveling solo from the US, I felt well taken care of by Lori and was tempted to leave a tip for his dental hygienist, Adri! Finally, I'll add that the friend who recommended Dr. Soto to me had her work done several years ago and it's still in perfect shape.

Hey Lori, how have you been? I wanted to give you an update on my implants. I just moved to North Carolina and was able to find a prosthodontist here who accepted me as a new patient. I wanted to get cleared of any dental problems before my knee surgery next month. First of all, the dentist had no problem that I had the work done outside the country. In fact his office said they have another patient who also had a full arch done in Costa Rica. The prosthdontist ordered a panoramic xray and when he walked in the room and saw the x-rays the first thing he said was, "oh, a very professional job!" He was impressed and as he did the exam and checked my smile, he commented that the work was very well done. He cleared me for knee replacement surgery and set me up for a cleaning next January. I just wanted Dr Soto to know that another trained and experienced prosthdontist praised his work and confirmed my own positive perception of an outstanding outcome. Thanks so much mainly for the quality work, but also for taking care of all the details and making the process so easy and smooth.

I needed some pretty extensive work done and had some negative experiences in the past so I was pretty nervous. Dr. Soto eased my fears immediately. He’s so gentle and you can tell he really cares about the well being of his patients. I couldn’t be happier that I finally found a dentist I’m comfortable with and all the work I’ve had done is top notch. I highly recommend Dr. Soto for any dental needs you may have.

Dr. Soto came highly recommended from friends in San Jose. I couldn't be more pleased with the care I received. All of the devices and treatments they use in the clinic are excellent. I felt in very good hands with Dr. Soto...he is super knowledgeable, explained everything clearly, and did an awesome job fixing my tooth. I'm very grateful. Don't think twice, this is an excellent choice for dental work in Costa Rica.
