Prof. Dr. Mert Yilmaz is a board-certified cardiovascular surgeon with more than 30 years of experience. He specializes in both adult and pediatric cardiac surgery. He graduated from Istanbul University in 1988. He completed his residency at Uludag University and received further training at the Royal South Hants Hospital in the UK.

Dr. Yilmaz was among the first in Turkey to perform endovascular repair of abdominal aneurysms. He completed the country’s second case. He has led cardiovascular surgery departments at leading hospitals. He now heads the department at Kadıköy Florence Nightingale Hospital. He is also a full professor at Halic University and an international member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (USA).

Dr. Yilmaz has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles, including 7 first-in-literature reports. He holds accreditations from the European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery.

Estou muito impressionado com a qualidade e o padrão de todo o processo

A comunicação foi óptima. Fui apanhada no hotel, transferida para o hospital e acompanhada pelo Adam (tradutor) durante toda a viagem. Ele sabia exatamente o processo de admissão e o que eles queriam. Era bem organizado e muito simpático. O consultor falava inglês e era muito calmo e profissional. Fiz uma femto iLasik que decorreu sem complicações. No dia 0 do pós-operatório, ainda conseguia ver, mas com uma visão desfocada. No dia 1 do pós-operatório, a minha visão é agora 20/20. Mas sinto os olhos a arderem, mas espero que isso desapareça dentro de alguns dias. Estou muito impressionado com a qualidade e o nível de todo o processo. Recomendo vivamente a Turquia para o turismo médico. É uma cidade acessível, limpa e bonita para visitar. Uma experiência fantástica.

O meu marido e eu viajámos da Nova Zelândia para fazer uma cirurgia de substituição de lentes oculares. Desde o início que temos tido uma comunicação impressa e eficiente. Todas as perguntas foram respondidas. Fomos apanhados no aeroporto, levados para o hotel e, no mesmo dia, a nosso pedido, fomos levados para o hospital para a nossa consulta. Dois dias depois, fomos novamente operados aos olhos, com recolha e entrega de encomendas. It’s so world changing to be able to see clearly again!

No geral, a experiência valeu muito a pena. É uma grande mudança poder voltar a ver claramente! O custo foi muito melhor do que nos Estados Unidos, e também consegui obter a lente que queria e que ainda não está disponível nos Estados Unidos. Para além de uma falsa suposição sobre a localização do meu hotel e de os motoristas terem dificuldade em encontrar-me, o único perímetro correu bastante bem. Estou satisfeito com o resultado. Sugiro apenas que, para além do médico, haja pelo menos um enfermeiro ou pessoal médico que fale inglês. Muitos americanos mais paranóicos ou menos viajados teriam dificuldade em passar por isso, honestamente. Penso que, no geral, o serviço vale muito a pena. Estas são apenas algumas recomendações para que o serviço seja excelente e não seja um problema para os americanos que precisam de procedimentos médicos.

Prof. Mert YILMAZ was graduated from Istanbul University Istanbul Medical Faculty in 1988. He started his residency program at the Uludag University, Department of Cardiovascular Surgery in 1990. During his residency training in the Uludag University, he also spent a year as a visiting resident in Royal South Hants Hospital in England. Afterword, he started to work as a chief resident in the Uludag University until the end of his specialty program. He became board certified Cardiovascular surgeon in 1995. He started to work in Florence Nightingale Hospital in Istanbul as a staff Cardiovascular surgeon in 1996. In year 2000, He actively particapated in the Cardiac Surgery program and performed multiple interventions including cardiac transplantation, minimal invasive cardiac surgery and endovascular surgery in OLV Aalst Hospital in Belgium. In 2001, He came back to Florence Nightingale Hospital, He was one of the pioneers in endovascular repairement of abdominal aneurysm surgeries as he performed the second case in Turkey in the Gayrettepe Florence Nightingale Hospital in 2003.

In 2004, he returned to academia as an assistant professor in the Uludag University and he worked on both Adult and Pediatric Cardiac Surgeries between, 2004 and 2008. He also took part in establishment of Medicana International Hospital in Istanbul in 2009 and. He worked as a associate Director of the department more than one year in this hospital. Between 2010-2014, he was the Director of the Deparment of Cardiovascular Surgery in Medicalpark Hospital Bursa and Turkish Private Hospital in Erbil. Since 2014, he is the Director of the Deparment of Cardiovascular Surgery in Kadıköy Florence Nightingale Hospital in Istanbul. His special interests are minimal invasive Cardiac surgery (small insicion) and Pediatric Cardiac surgery. As an academician, Professor Yilmaz published over than 50 international and national manuscripts and 7 of them were tittiled as the first report in the world medical literature. He speaks and writes English fluently.
