Turkish Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Association

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saydam Mehmet is a general surgeon at Lokman Hekim Istanbul Hospital (2025–present). His work covers oncologic, endocrine, and metabolic surgery. He performs laparoscopic surgery, including hernia repair and anti-reflux procedures. He also treats morbid obesity and type 2 diabetes. Sleeve gastrectomy is among his key procedures.

Education: He graduated from the Gülhane Military Medical Academy, Faculty of Medicine (1995–2001). He completed his general surgery residency there (2004–2009). He was a research fellow at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, Ryder Trauma Center (2015–2016).

Experience: He worked as a general surgery specialist at GATA Haydarpaşa, Girne Military, and Mevki Military. He later served as Associate Professor of General Surgery at Dışkapı, Sancaktepe, and Medical Park Gebze. Earlier, he practiced as a general practitioner in military medical services.

Dr. Nihal Durmus Kocaaslan is an Associate Professor of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery at Marmara University. Kocaaslan holds TPRECD and EBOPRAS certifications (2013). Kocaaslan became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) in 2021. Kocaaslan has served as a Forensic Expert at the Ministry of Justice since 2019. Kocaaslan earned a PhD in Forensic Medicine in 2020.

Expertise includes orthognathic, maxillofacial, and jaw surgery, as well as cleft lip and palate and other congenital anomalies. Kocaaslan also specializes in breast and chest wall reconstruction, chronic wound repair, and aesthetic surgery.

International training includes reconstructive microsurgery at RWTH Aachen. It also includes breast, face, and body aesthetics at clinics in the United States and cleft care at Seattle Children’s. Kocaaslan trained in craniosynostosis at Erasmus University Rotterdam and in maxillofacial and orthognathic surgery at St. George’s Hospital. Dr. Ozlem Cholak is a Professor and Head of the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery at Demiroğlu University of Science and Group Florence Nightingale Hospitals. She is an expert in microsurgery, breast surgery, body reshaping, and facial aesthetics. Dr. Cholak graduated among the top three students at Kocaeli University Faculty of Medicine. She completed her residency at Ankara Training and Research Hospital.

She has held key academic and clinical positions, including Consultant Specialist at Health Sciences University Okmeydani Training and Research Hospital. Dr. Cholak has also led humanitarian surgical missions in Jordan and Uzbekistan. Op. Dr. Kadri Akıncı is a plastic surgeon based in Antalya. He specializes in facial aesthetics, rhinoplasty, breast aesthetics, and body contouring.

He graduated from Dicle University Faculty of Medicine in 2013. He completed his specialization in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Başkent University in 2021.

In 2022, he was selected for the Turkish Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (EPCD) fellowship. He completed the program that year. He passed the EBOPRAS written exam in İzmir in 2023. He passed the oral exam in Vienna in 2024 and earned EBOPRAS certification.

He was born in Malatya. He completed his medical education at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. Between 1994-1998 he worked as a research assistant at Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty Cardiovascular Surgery and Istanbul University Chest Diseases clinics. 

He completed his Plastic Surgery training at Haydarpaşa Numune Hospital. After working at Dr Lutfi Kırdar Kartal Training and Research Hospital for 10 years, both academically and as a clinician, He has worked as a freelance physician in his clinic since 2014.
