Career

Born in Trabzon in 1982, Prof. Yusuf Yıldırım completed his high school education at Kanuni Anatolian High School and earned his medical degree from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 2006. He pursued his residency at Beyoğlu Eye Training and Research Hospital, where he contributed to clinical trials on age-related macular degeneration and myopia treatment. Prof. Yıldırım's clinical focus lies in cataract and refractive surgeries, as well as corneal and ocular surface diseases. He has performed over 10,000 cataract surgeries, numerous ocular surface reconstructions, and advanced corneal transplants (PK, DALK, DMEK). His refractive surgery experience includes PRK, LASIK (mechanical and femtosecond), SMILE, and phakic IOL implantation. He continues to participate in clinical research, particularly involving toric phakic IOLs. Dr. Rahsan Adviye is a Neurology Specialist at Memorial Göztepe Hospital (2025–present). She has over 20 years of specialist practice in Istanbul. She previously worked at Fatih Medical Park (2004–2008) and Hisar Hospital (2009–2010). From 2010 to 2025, she served as a Neurology Specialist and instructor at the University of Health Sciences, Kartal Dr. Lütfi Kirdar City Hospital. This post included 15 years of academic teaching.

He heads the Liver Transplantation Center at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. He also leads the Kidney Transplantation Units at Kyrgyzstan Turkish Friendship Hospital and at Etlik City Hospital in Ankara.

He is board-certified in general surgery (2010). His credentials include Liver Donor and Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery certification (Kent Hospital, 2010), a Liver Transplantation certificate (İnönü University Liver Transplant Institute, 2014–2015), an Experimental Microsurgery certificate (2013), and Endoscopy and ERCP certificates.
