In 1988 he graduated from the State Medical Institute, Dnepropetrovsk.
After moving to Israel, he studied at the postgraduate level at the Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon (1990-1991), then completed a one-year internship at the Hadassah Medical Center.
As part of his postgraduate education, he completed courses in Advanced Minimally Invasive Pediatric Surgery (Aesculapius Academy, Berlin), Medical Circumcision (Center for Progressive Judaism, Tel Aviv), courses for medical workers at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (New Delhi, India), etc.
