Professional education 

Dr. Filipek is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical Academy in Krakow, where he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in 1977, in 1980 he obtained the first degree of specialization in general surgery, and in 1986 the second degree in urology. In 1999 he obtained the degree of doctor of medical sciences. 

Professional experience 

Dr. n. med. Marek Filipek serves as the Head of the Urology Department of the Independent Specialist Western Hospital in Grodzisk Mazowiecki. He created from scratch one of the most modern and best equipped urology departments in Poland. For many years, Dr. Filipek was associated with the Urology Clinic of the Jagiellonian University Medical College, where he worked as a senior assistant and lecturer. In the years 2000-2006, he was the head of the Urology Department of the St. Luke Provincial Hospital in Tarnów.

Certificates 

He participated in many scientific and advanced courses. He spent internships and scholarships in many prestigious foreign urology centers, including the Professor F. Debruyne Urology Clinic in Nijmegen. In 2014, Dr. Filipek completed training in Focal-One HIFU, with Dr. Albert Gelet, at the Hospices Civils de Lyon Edouard Herriot Hospital, in Lyon, France. In the same year, in April, the doctor also participated in the course of the European School of Urology “Focal therapy in prostate cancer” in Stockholm. 

Scientific activity

Dr. n. med. Marek Filipek is a member of the Polish Urological Society (in 1997 he was the Vice-President of the Krakow Branch of the PTU). He is also a full member of the European Urological Society. He has also been awarded many times for his scientific activity and achievements in the field of urology (winner of, among others, the 1st PTU award and the Prof. Zew Wajsman award). The scientific achievements of Dr. n. med. Marek Filipek include several dozen publications and papers presented at Polish and foreign congresses and conferences. He is the author of over 30 publications and papers published, among others, in Urologia Polska or presented at the congresses of the Polish Urological Society and the European Urological Society. He has also participated in international, multi-center clinical trials many times. Every year Dr. Filipek also participates in the meetings of the American Urological Association.

O Dr. Stefan W. Czarniecki nasceu nos EUA, onde iniciou sua educação, que continuou na Universidade McGill, em Montreal, e na Universidade Jaguelônica, em Cracóvia. Além de medicina, ele estudou história da arte, ciência política e física.

Ele dirige o único centro abrangente de diagnóstico e tratamento robótico do câncer de próstata na Europa Central. Colabora clinicamente com centros nos EUA, Países Baixos, Grã-Bretanha, Alemanha e França. Ativo em comissões e seções da Associação Europeia de Urologia, ele realiza palestras internacionais. É coautor de numerosas publicações científicas, incluindo análises internacionais multicêntricas sobre o uso de biópsias líquidas em diagnósticos seletivos do câncer de próstata.

Especializa-se em uro-oncologia, diagnósticos e terapias personalizadas, tratamento focal e vigilância ativa moderna do câncer de próstata. Há mais de 10 anos, realiza terapias robóticas no tratamento do câncer de próstata utilizando o método HIFU, e já efetuou >2.500 biópsias de fusão da próstata, estando entre os líderes mundiais. Desde o início de sua carreira profissional, teve um impacto significativo na qualidade dos diagnósticos e tratamentos do câncer de próstata na Polônia, bem como na comunicação midiática sobre essa doença.

Duties

• Performing routine and major Penile / Urethral Reconstruction as well as Core Urology procedures twice weekly at Victoria and Queen Margaret Hospitals (Green light prostatectomy, Urolift Service lead, Prostate template biopsies, General urology)

In his professional career, Dr. Sarıer began working as a urology specialist at Özel Antalya Yaşam Hospital from 2005 to 2008, and then served at Gümüşsuyu Asker Hospital between 2008 and 2009. Since 2009, he has been employed at Medical Park Antalya Hospital, where he received the title of associate professor in 2020. Additionally, he served as a faculty member in the Department of Urology at Altınbaş University Faculty of Medicine from 2016 to 2017, and has been continuing his academic career as a faculty member in the Department of Urology at İstinye University Faculty of Medicine since 2021.

Dr. Ender Kavukçu is a urologist. He graduated from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, in 2004. He completed his residency at S.B. Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital. He became a Urology Specialist in 2009. In the same year, he passed the European Association of Urology board exam (FEBU).

He has held several leadership roles. He was ESWL (Stone Crushing) Unit Manager at GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital from 2010 to 2011. He was Administrative Manager of the Urology Clinic at Van Regional Training Hospital from 2012 to 2015. He served at Kartal Yavuz Selim State Hospital from 2015 to 2018 and at Tuzla State Hospital from 2018 to 2021. Since 2022, he has practiced urology at Avicenna.

Dr. Alejandro Lira is an experienced urologist in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. He earned his medical degree from the Universidad de Guadalajara in 2005. He completed urology training at UNAM in Mexico City and received surgeon certification in 2011.

He is a member of the Mexican Council of Urologists. He attends urology events regularly. After certification, he returned to Tijuana and works with hospitals across the city.
