Between 2002 and 2008, he received his specialization training at the Istanbul Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital Department of Urology, and obtained the title of Urology Specialist in February 2008. After working at Edremit Military Hospital between 2008 and 2009, he started working as a Urology specialist at Istanbul Göztepe Training and Research Hospital in 2009. In 2011, he underwent a 3-month Laparoscopy-Robotic Urology training at Heidelberg University Heillbronn Clinic. Between 2009 and 2014, he conducted numerous scientific research studies, especially in the field of endourology, and obtained the title of Associate Professor in September 2014. In 2017, he was elected as a board member of the Endourology Society and has been serving in this position since then. Since 2018, he has been actively involved in the Endourology working group of the European Association of Urology, Young Academic Urologists (EAU-YAU) Committee for a period of 2 years. In January 2021, he was appointed as a Professor at the Istanbul Medeniyet University Department of Urology.After that started working at Şişli Memorial Hospital in 2022. Dr. Zuhal Cakmak Peksen is a Family Medicine Specialist since 2017. She earned her MD from Çukurova University in 2010. She completed specialty training at Yüzüncü Yıl University between 2013 and 2017. She is currently studying for a bachelor’s degree in Health Management at Anadolu University (2024–present).

She has 15 years of clinical practice (2010–2025) across 8 institutions. Her experience includes research in Family Medicine (2013–2017) and work at several Family Health Centers. Since 2020, she has served at TOKİ Avrupa Family Health Center in Gaziosmanpaşa, Istanbul.

Dr. Cagdas Erdogan is a gastroenterologist at Ankara Etlik City Hospital. He trained in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He earned his MD from Dokuz Eylul University. He completed his Internal Medicine residency from 2014 to 2019. He then completed a Gastroenterology fellowship at Ankara City Hospital from 2019 to 2022. His clinical focus includes advanced endoscopy (ERCP, EUS, EMR, ESD, POEM, EGD, colonoscopy, double-balloon enteroscopy), inflammatory bowel disease, and hepatology.

He has about 40 publications. His work appears in The Turkish Journal of Gastroenterology, Scientific Reports, Endoscopy, and Digestive Diseases and Sciences. Notable studies address vedolizumab in IBD and prophylaxis for post-ERCP pancreatitis. He also reported a 13-year Crohn’s cohort comparing infliximab and adalimumab. Additional work covers outcomes with an adalimumab biosimilar and innovative endoscopic therapies (MCA via double-balloon enteroscopy, holmium laser for Bouveret syndrome, POEM for Zenker’s diverticulum, and ESD for esophageal papillomatosis).

Dr. Nabi Gokhan Ferahcan is a specialist in family and preventive medicine. He has over 20 years of clinical experience. Since 2000, he has served as Chief Physician of the Check-up Department. He focuses on personalized health screenings and preventive care based on scientific evidence. Dr. Ferahcan manages a wide range of conditions, including liver steatosis, hypertension, high cholesterol, and anemia. He uses advanced therapies such as vitamin replacement and adult vaccination.

He completed his Family Medicine Residency at Haydarpasa Numune Hospital. He earned his medical degree from Marmara University. Dr. Ferahcan is accredited by the Istanbul Medical Chamber. He is also known for his work in medical literature and public health education.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şeref Başal was born in 1971 in Kırıkkale and completed

his primary and secondary education in Kırıkkale. In 1984, he entered

Maltepe Military High School and graduated in 1988. He continued his

medical education at GATA Military Medical Faculty between 1988-1994

and graduated in 1994.

Following his graduation, he completed his internship at GATA Training Hospital in 1994-1995. He

served as chief infirmary physician at Siirt Gendarmerie Regional Command in 1995-1996 and Batman

Gendarmerie Regional Command in 1996-1997. Between November 2010 and November 2011, he

worked as a clinical fellow in Uro-oncology and received urologic robotic surgery training at Colombia

University Cancer Center in New York, United States of America. In October 2011, he completed his

training at Hackensack University Medical Center daVinci Training Center in the United States and

received the “Console Surgeon” certificate in robotic surgery.

In 2013, he was appointed as Associate Professor at Istanbul GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital

Urology Clinic and between September 2016 and October 2017, he continued this duty at SBU Sultan

Abdülhamit Han Training and Research Hospital Urology Clinic and worked as a docent faculty

member in SBU Urology Department. Between October 2017 and December 2018, he served as the

education officer at SBU Haseki Training and Research Hospital.

In July 2021, he retired as an Associate Professor at SBU Urology Department. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şeref

Başal, who has trained many experts and academicians in the field of urology, has many articles in

national and international journals in his field, has advanced surgical experience in his field, has

performed numerous surgeries related to his subject, has organized courses on this subject and has

participated in many courses as an instructor.
