Dr. Zeynep Alkin is a Professor of Ophthalmology. She specializes in medical retina and vitreoretinal surgery. She earned her medical degree at Istanbul University. She completed her residency at Beyoglu Eye Training and Research Hospital. Dr. Alkin later served as an Assistant Professor and Clinical Fellow in retina departments. He has completed hundreds of successful vitreoretinal procedures. Dr. Yilmaz is also skilled in advanced Excimer Laser vision correction, including Lasik, PRK, and No-touch techniques. Dr. Yilmaz trained at the Vance Thompson Vision Center in the U.S. He combines advanced American surgical methods with Turkish medical practice. In July 2016, he was selected for the "Retina - Macula - Vitreous Diseases & Surgery Clinical Researcher" program of Istanbul Retina Institute.
He has conducted more than 50 scientific studies on retinal diseases, most of which were published in international top class journals.
With his scientific studies on retinal diseases, he was entitled to become an active member of the Medical Retina Unit and Vitreoretinal Surgery Unit of the Turkish Ophthalmology Association (TOD).
