Desde janeiro de 1993, o Dr. Totaro exerce o cargo de Coordenador do Centro de PMA (Procriação Medicamente Assistida) e do Centro de Ecografia Obstétrica-Ginecológica no Ospedale Santa Maria, no Departamento Materno-Infantil.
