Purnajam is a plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine clinic in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro. The private practice is led by Dr. Moises De Melo, who performs aesthetic and functional body procedures. Surgeries take place in hospital settings, so patients have access to monitoring and critical care if needed.### Specialist Credentials and ExperienceThe medical team includes two doctors. Dr. Moises De Melo leads the practice with around 20 years of experience and over 4,800 surgeries. He completed his plastic surgery residency at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. The Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery (SBCP) and the Ministry of Education (MEC) recognize his specialist titles. The clinic holds several domestic and international certifications:

• Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery (SBCP)
• American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS)
• International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS)
• TEMOS International healthcare certification

### Body Contouring and LiposculptureSpecialists perform advanced body sculpting with **Lipo HD** to define muscle contours and remove localized fat. This method is often paired with **Argoplasma**, a technology that uses argon plasma energy. It triggers immediate skin retraction, which helps treat loose skin after fat removal. For safety, surgeons inject fat only into the subcutaneous plane – never into muscle. The clinic offers several surgical slimming and contouring options:

• Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) to remove excess skin and repair abdominal muscles.
• Mini-abdominoplasty for patients with mild tissue laxity below the navel.
• Hidrolipo for localized fat reduction with targeted recovery protocols.
• Gynaecomastia surgery to treat breast tissue enlargement in men.

Liposuction removes no more than 7% of the patient's body weight to maintain safety.

### Breast and Facial SurgerySurgeons perform **mastopexy** (breast lift) to reposition drooping tissue and realign the areola. This procedure works with or without silicone implants, depending on volume needs. Implant placement – subglandular or submuscular – is based on individual anatomy. For facial rejuvenation, the practice offers **rhinoplasty** and facelift surgery. Rhinoplasty includes a breathing assessment, so functional nasal passages are preserved alongside aesthetic changes.### Aesthetic Medicine and Skin CareNon-surgical treatments address wrinkles, stretch marks, and acne scars. The clinic uses **Morpheus 8**, which combines microneedling with fractional radiofrequency to stimulate collagen. This treatment suits all skin tones and targets both surface skin quality and deeper tissue laxity.Available aesthetic procedures include:

• Chemical peels for skin texture improvement
• Microdermabrasion for skin resurfacing
• Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) for pigmentation and acne scars
• Blue light therapy for active inflammation
• Injectable collagen biostimulators for gradual volume and lift

Specialists also perform **Mohs surgery** for precise skin cancer tumor removal.

### Specialized Equipment and TechnologyThe practice uses energy-based platforms for tissue remodeling and diagnostics. **Vaser** technology liquefies fat before removal during liposuction. The **Argoplasma** system tightens skin using argon-based energy. Unlike standard radiofrequency, it offers precise temperature control. **Dermatoscopy** provides detailed skin examinations. Bioimpedance analysis measures body composition before surgery.### Services for International PatientsStaff provide consultations in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. International patients receive structured post-operative care, including manual lymphatic drainage to reduce swelling. The team follows specific thrombosis prevention protocols – surgical compressors and early walking. Pre-operative preparation for traveling patients covers fasting guidelines and coordination with anesthesiologists.
