I suffered for almost two years with severe stenosis in my lower back. My Orthopedic doctor referred me to Dr Luis Romero. It was a true Blesssing.. He was compassionate, and explained everything to me. I was like ok let's do this! its been two months I'm pain free and walking better. I thank Dr. Romero and the staff at Memorial Hospital West.

I had an outstanding experience at Memorial Hospital West, and I truly cannot give enough praise to Dr. Luis Romero and his entire neurosurgery team.
For over two years, I suffered from severe spinal stenosis that drastically affected my quality of life. I had crippling, constant pain in my left leg that never improved—even after rigorous physical therapy. The pain became so intense that I ultimately had to go to the emergency room.
From the very beginning, the care I received was exceptional. Courtney, APRN, and Sherille, APRN—both part of Dr. Romero’s team—were incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and thorough in gathering information and ensuring everything was handled efficiently.
Dr. Romero himself was phenomenal. He came to see me promptly, and the entire process moved quickly and smoothly. He ordered the necessary X-rays and MRI to pinpoint the issue, and within less than a week, I was scheduled for lumbar spinal fusion surgery.
The surgery went extremely well, and just a couple of days later I was discharged from the hospital. The results felt nothing short of a miracle—my chronic left leg pain was gone, and I could finally get my life back.
Every step of the way, from the emergency room at Memorial West, to the fifth floor west team, to my follow-up appointments in Dr. Romero’s office, I was treated with the utmost respect, professionalism, and care. My follow-up exams with Victor, APRN, went very well, and Lisandra was an absolute delight to work with—kind, attentive, and always helpful throughout the process.
I am beyond grateful and highly recommend Dr. Luis Romero and his team to anyone in need of expert neurosurgical care.

Dr. Romero was patient, took his time approximately 1 hr to review my case with me and after assessment was able to give me viable options to help develop a plan to help me. Out of 3 surgeons he was the only one who listened to me and had my best interest at heart. The other surgeons seemed to be only interested in the financial reward and not what was best for the me. If experiencing back pain I strongly recommend making an appointment with his office and experience the difference in the quality of care Dr. Romeo can provide.

Dr. Romero is an excellent surgeon. He did my back surgery on November 4 and before surgery I was in agonizing pain. I could barely walk to my kitchen. Almost immediately after surgery my pain was completely gone. The experience I had with Dr. Romero and his staff at Memorial Hospital could not have been better. Everyone was so kind,empathetic, knowledgeable and comforting. As far as Dr Romero is concerned, I HIGHLY recommend him! I promise you won’t find anyone as knowledgeable, skilled and kind as he is. Also his bedside manner is 5⭐️
I hope I never need back surgery again but if I do he’s the man!
