Jair Bar

Professor Jair Bar is a thoracic oncologist and Deputy Director of the Cancer Center at Sheba Medical Center. He leads the Thoracic Oncology Unit. He performs precision medicine for lung cancers. Professor Bar has served as the Chair of the Israel Lung Cancer Group since 2003.

Specialization and Surgical Focus

The doctor treats advanced lung cancers. These cases include non-small cell and stage 4 thoracic malignancies. He uses a multidisciplinary clinical approach. This strategy integrates molecular and genetic profiling into every treatment plan.

Patients receive care using immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and radiotherapy. His clinical expertise covers several areas:

• Medical oncology and systemic cancer treatments
• Radiation oncology for thoracic tumors

Research and Academic Leadership

Professor Bar serves as a Senior Lecturer at Tel Aviv University. He also operates a translational research lab. This work investigates how cancer cells evade the immune system. He has published over 400 papers.

His research includes studying cancer metabolism via exhaled breath analysis. Such analysis identifies chemical markers of disease in the breath. Additionally, he explores molecular biology and genetics at Sheba Medical Center.
